The nonlinear photonics group at The University of Auckland (New Zealand) led by Stephane Coen, Miro Erkintalo, and Stuart Murdoch has open positions for two PhD students (for 3 years) and one MSc student (for 1 year).
The successful candidates will join a vibrant group of researchers active in nonlinear fibre resonators and microresonators. Research will focus on experiments on nonlinear polarization dynamics in nonlinear resonators and related topics. The candidates will benefit from wider national collaborations with researchers from the Dodd Walls Centre (DWC) of Research Excellence which regroup several groups from various Universities in New Zealand.
We are seeking candidates comfortable with team work and with a good level of English. Candidates for the PhD position should hold a degree in Physics or Engineering. Experience with experimental or numerical projects in optics is a plus.
Please contact Stéphane Coen (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Miro Erkintalo (email@example.com) for further information, or to send an application. Applications should include a CV, a cover letter, contact details of two or three references, and a copy of their latest transcript of records.
